City of Whitehorse Mayor Laura Cabott presents a $1,950 cheque to the Whitehorse Food Bank.
The Executive of AYC passed a motion to present each of the Mayors and Councillors who served during these unprecedented times with a gift to thank them for their service. To support local businesses who have been struggling through the pandemic, each elected official was given a gift certificate to the local business of their choice. Many of the officials donated their gift certificates to the Food Bank instead. $250 was donated to the Dawson Food Bank, $50 to the Help and Hope Society in Watson Lake and $1,950 to the Whitehorse Food Bank.
